Providing support in administrative fields in the areas of scheduling, correspondence, document control, finance, budgeting, records management, and other general administrative/executive services for an office.
Providing advice and guidance to managers and employees on processes, procedures and requirements, and coordinating the processing of requirements through internal or external service providers.
Identifying sources of information, researching background material, undertaking preliminary analyses of issues, and preparing correspondence, briefing materials and/or drafting reports or components of presentations.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada is responsible for policies and programs in support of Canada's economic, ecological and scientific interests in oceans and inland waters; for the conservation and sustainable utilization of Canada's fisheries resources in marine and inland waters; for leading and facilitating federal policies and programs on oceans; and for safe, effective and environmentally sound marine services responsive to the needs of Canadians in a global economy.
This process may be used to staff various administrative officer positions within the Ontario and prairies region at the AS02 group and level. A pool of qualified candidates will be established.

An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Experience in providing administrative support to managers.
• Experience using a variety of software packages such as the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Experience in scheduling meetings and collecting meeting materials.
• Experience drafting, proofreading and formatting correspondence.
• Experience in preparing travel arrangements and expense claims.
