As Manager, Household Services you will be responsible for:
•Planning, coordinating, controlling and managing the preparation and delivery of all household services;
•Coordinating operations within the Household Services unit and with other divisions of OSGG, and external partners;
•Ensuring hospitality activities in support of events at Rideau Hall and the Citadelle are of high quality and cost effective;
•Leading the planning and implementation of Human Resources activities for the division;
•Planning and managing the division’s annual budget;
•Coordinating, managing and approving all procurement and asset management activities;
•Consulting with and advising managers and staff of the OSGG, and various external partners;
•Developing, documenting and implementing operational guidelines, policies, procedures, work and services standards related to household operations;
•Researching, assessing and implementing national and international standards and best practices.
The OSGG is a small department that is part of the Core Public Administration. The office is located on the beautiful grounds of Rideau Hall in Ottawa. The incumbent of the position is also responsible for managing the provision of hospitality services at the Citadelle of Quebec, the Governor General's second official residence.

The intent of this process is to staff one (1) indeterminate, bilingual imperative CBC/CBC position. A pool of qualified candidates (fully assessed or partially assessed) may be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various language requirements, for various tenures and with various security profiles.

Education:
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives. The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
1. A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
2. An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience:
E1- Experience working in the events management and/or hospitality field as a manager;
E2- Experience in planning, organizing, and managing the daily operations of hospitality staff and/or events staff;
E3- Experience in recruiting, training and supervising staff;
E4- Experience providing high quality client service;
E5- Experience in managing budgets.

Asset Qualifications:
AQ1 - Specialized degree in hospitality management or other related fields;

AQ3 - Experience in the delivery of front-line client services.

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
