Partnerships Advisor
The Partnerships Advisor supervises a team of officers (2-3 people) who are responsible for updating funding files according to the forms, guides and guidelines of funding programs in support of aquatic ecosystem management. He/she works closely with experts in aquatic ecosystem biology to obtain advice. The person negotiates agreements to achieve concrete project results in accordance with program terms and conditions. A wide range of funding programs are under his/her responsibility and the person must have a good understanding of the orientations and operating procedures of each program and be able to maneuver from one to the other. This person deals with relationships with Aboriginal partners and recipient organizations on a daily basis (links).
Indigenous Liaison Advisor
The Indigenous Liaison Advisor supervises a team of officers (2 to 3 people) who are responsible for acting in accordance with the guides, tools and best practices recognized in the federal government for Aboriginal consultations. He/she integrates the interests, concerns and expectations transmitted by the Aboriginal communities during the consultation process of projects under regulatory review, in close collaboration with the assigned biologists (add hyperlink?). The person ensures coordination between the various stakeholders on the files under her/his responsibility and gives advice on the results of the consultation. In addition to these files, he/she leads various internal and external initiatives to develop relations with Aboriginal communities in accordance with the reconciliation strategy and other government directives (links).
Coordinator, Partnerships
The Coordinator manages and coordinates a team (4 to 5 people) including 3 people under his/her direct supervision. He/she is responsible for the management and administrative follow-up of grant and contribution agreements (from the negotiation of agreements to the closing of these agreements). The person collaborates with the biologist team leaders. He/she participates in national committees to coordinate the launch of calls for projects under several funding programs, to ensure the provision of training to employees and recipients and to promote programs in accordance with our regional priorities. He/she ensures the compliance and effectiveness of the follow-ups carried out by the team during the fiscal year and according to the deadlines set out in the agreements. The Coordinator ensures the rigorous review of agreements and reports before recommending them for approval by the head office. In all, he/she manages and coordinates more than 40 funding agreements annually from several funds in support of aquatic ecosystem management.
The Maurice Lamontagne Institute, a research centre at Fisheries and Oceans Canada, is located at 850 route de la Mer, Mont-Joli, along the edge of the St. Lawrence estuary. The Institute is approximately 15 km of downtown and at midpoint between Mont-Joli, Rimouski and Matane, two cities located approximately 40 km, the Institute is located on the Pointe aux apples, crabapples, loquats, an enchanting site on which of the walking trails have been constructed. The Seaside is also available. On site, an auditorium seating 250, various meeting rooms, a cafeteria, a gym, coatrooms with showers are available. In season, a soccer field is also used. In addition, the social club of employees is proposing an activity programming depending on the season.
🐟 The current intent of this inventory is to fill two (2) indeterminate PM-04 group and level positions and one (1) indeterminate PM-05 group and level position.
The positions are all located at the Maurice Lamontagne Institute in Mont-Joli.
This inventory is also intended to create a pool of qualified candidates that could be used to staff similar positions, with various language requirements and durations, within the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada.

*Due to the unique evaluation process of language proficiency, this essential qualification is required upon appointment only.
