❗ The Real Property, Environment, Security and Safety branch is currently undergoing reorganization. Essential and asset criteria will also be applicable to the new organization. This process could be used to staff positions in either the old or new organizational structure.

Duties

The Property Maintenance Coordinator/Real Property Technician will be expected to provide technical real property expertise in asset planning, maintenance and life cycle management. As a key player in the specialized computerized asset maintenance system; he will be responsible for monitoring the management of preventive maintenance. The incumbent will be responsible for determining the requirements for the inspection and maintenance of the asset, the improvement of its operation while complying with government regulations and standards. He will be responsible for developing a methodology for collecting data in the field (equipment inventory) and also for keeping this database up to date. It will be required to provide technical expertise including assessment reports on the condition and performance of facilities using indicators.

In addition to developing maintenance work plans, he or she will be responsible for providing strategic direction and technical advice on operational issues and on the internal and external outsourcing of various maintenance work. The incumbent will also be required to work collaboratively with the Headquarters (Ottawa) Asset Management Team. On the sites, the incumbent will be required to travel in mechanical rooms, on roofs and also in enclosed spaces.

Intent of the process

🐟 The purpose of this inventory is to staff a permanent position immediately, and to create a pool of partially qualified candidates that will be used to staff similar positions within the Fisheries and Oceans Canada.

The positions are located at 104, Dalhousie Street in Quebec city (Quebec) or at the base of the Canadian Coast Guard located at 15, Prince Street in Sorel-Tracy (Quebec).
