The Canada Centre for Remote Sensing (CCRS) is Canada’s Centre of Excellence in remote sensing science, technology, and data. CCRS operates as a division of the Canada Centre for Mapping and Earth Observation (CCMEO), conducting research and delivering remote sensing science and expertise on behalf of the Government of Canada. CCRS is one of the lead proponents of Canada's new Strategy for Satellite Earth Observation (https://asc-csa.gc.ca/eng/publications/canada-strategy-for-satellite-earth-observation/) which aims to maximize the benefits of Earth observation for our nation and the world.
We are seeking both new and established research scientists who are passionate about developing and applying Earth Observation methods and data to help address important challenges facing Canadians such as climate change, the sustainable use of resources and the management of disasters (e.g. flooding). We invite you to join our team and work alongside our scientists who are at the top of their fields continuing CCRS’ fifty-year legacy of advancing remote sensing in Canada and around the world. As a CCRS scientist, you will have broad, direct access to the EO data, software, and computing you need to innovate and advance the research you lead. You will be encouraged to collaborate and maintain research relationships with academia, industry, or other public agencies, and will have the opportunity to supervise and mentor younger scientists and students. Your expertise will be called upon to help advise and support the selection and development of new EO missions for Canada. In this role, you will find we actively foster a culture of professional development that will encourage and support your promotion when you decide you are ready for consideration.
We support balancing your work and private life by offering the benefits of flexible work arrangements as well as several benefits you are entitled to from an opportunity at NRCan. By coming to work at NRCan you will be working for a department that is on the Forbes list of Canada’s Best Employers 2022!
