Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one (1) indeterminate position in Edmonton, Alberta.

A qualified pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions in Alberta on an indeterminate, term, casual or acting basis.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience*.

The IMA subject matter experts have determined an *acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience as consisting of at least 2 of the following:
Education: Successful completion of two years of secondary school; and/or
Training: Successful completion of an acceptable level of training courses; and/or
Experience: A minimum of 2 years work experience.

*Proof of education will be required prior to appointment.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

- Experience in a work environment using a computer with a software suite such as MS Office, including but not limited to word processing and spreadsheet software.

- Experience in analyzing information, data or reports.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience applying the Criminal Code, such as Part VI pertaining to the interception of telecommunications.

- Experience working as an Intercept Monitor Analyst using the Central Communication Intercept System (CenCIS).

- Experience working on a RCMP project where the safety of a person or a matter of national security has been identified.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

- Ability and willingness to be exposed to violent and/or traumatic events, abusive language, and disturbing and graphic material when conducting intercept monitoring activities.

- Ability and willingness to work shift work (24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year).

- Ability and willingness to travel across Canada.

- Ability and willingness to work overtime.

- Ability and willingness to testify in a court of law.
