As a CO-02 Commerce Officer at AAFC you will:
• Research, analyze, and recommend the development of financial program policies, guides and/or program enhancements.
• Research, analyze and assess financial claims and synthesize detailed and complex information obtained into a comprehensive recommendation for project approval by senior management.
• Establish terms and conditions of financial eligibility; monitor compliance to the agreements; and report on challenges, risks and success throughout the life cycle of various program claims.
• Analyze various financial reports, research and information.
• Develop and maintain a collaborative working relationship with stakeholders
• Coach and supervise a team
• Provide strategic advice and recommendations to senior management including the preparation of briefing notes

This selection process will be used to fill four (4) immediate and future vacancies, in various Commerce Officer positions located across Canada. Full-time permanent and temporary positions may be staffed using this process.

• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position.
Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CO group on June 21, 2021, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the CO group

ASSESSMENT INFORMATION
STAGE 1 – Applications
Applications will be evaluated to assess the education requirements and applicants are asked to provide Yes/No responses for asset experience but no additional information will be requested at this time.

Candidates will be invited to complete a take home exam.

STAGE 5- Establishment of qualified pool
All candidates that qualify at this stage will be asked to provide proof of education, proof of citizenship, professional references and to complete an additional qualifications questionnaire.

All qualified candidates will be placed in a pool. Once the results of the pool become available to AAFC hiring managers, they will connect directly with individuals in the pool being considered for specific appointments.
