Infrastructure Branch (SPIB) of Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) is the place for you!

SPIB is looking for project management officers that are willing to put their administrative and financial skills to the test to support the branch in successfully overcoming real estate challenges of the 21st-century.

𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬:

As a valuable member of a project management team, the duties of the Project Management Officer will consist in providing administrative and financial support to assist in the delivery of various real property projects contributing to the successful implementation of the Long Term Vision and Plan (LTVP) for the Parliamentary Precinct.

𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞:

• Participating in the development of project reports, presentations and other related products to provide senior management and/or stakeholders with an accurate status update on the various segments of a project (e.g. financial status; construction progression; milestones schedule, contracting information, etc.).
• Developing and maintaining effective and efficient project administration procedures, records management system and control processes to be used by the project management team as they plan and deliver LTVP projects.
• Developing and maintaining a Project Navigator (formerly known as the National Project Management System (NPMS)) electronic folder system and checklist to ensure each project is compliant with departmental guidance. Project Navigator is PSPC’s framework that defines key principles and provides the directives, roadmaps, deliverables and tools needed to successfully deliver projects on scope, on time and on budget
• Providing support to tendering and contracting processes.
• Providing assistance in coordinating and managing construction logistics, such as preparing schedules, contemplated change notices and change orders, communications products, and organizing meetings with project teams and/or stakeholders.
• Acquiring, reviewing, recording, verifying and maintaining relevant and accurate data and information, especially by working with financial systems (e.g. SIGMA).

A variety of assessment tools may be used in the assessment of candidates. Also note that certain competencies will be assessed globally. This means that candidates may proceed through all the assessment steps, including the reference check phase at which time a global score will then be assigned that will indicate an overall pass / fail.

Some assessments may be conducted remotely, including teleconference or videoconference assessments.

During the application or assessment process both cheating and plagiarism are considered forms of misconduct and are not permitted. Any person found cheating, including those who help others to cheat, may be subject to removal from the selection process.

Given the rotational nature of certain project management assignments, the successful candidate must be willing and able to relocate and work in Ottawa or Gatineau.
