Intent of the process

The intent of this selection process is to staff Senior Program Development Officer (SPDO) positions in Service Canada, Ontario Region.

Candidates who are substantively at the PM-04 group and level may be considered first for deployment.

A pool of fully qualified candidates may also be established to staff similar positions within Employment and Social Development Canada, Service Canada, in the Ontario Region.

EDUCATION:
• Secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (a satisfactory score on the PSC test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma (GIT320); or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience).

EXPERIENCE:
• *Recent and significant experience in **collaborating with ***community partners and stakeholders.

*Recent and significant is defined as experience acquired in a full time position for a period of approximately 12 months within the past five (5) years.

**Collaborating means ONE of the following:
(a) Representing ESDC/Service Canada or a comparable organization when working with community partners and stakeholders, to actively plan services or innovative projects that will address community priorities and/or needs. A comparable organization can include, but is not limited to, not-for-profit organizations, community organizations, executive boards, other federal departments or other levels of government.

(b) Representing ESDC/Service Canada or other levels of Government in the development of working level partnerships/relationships with groups and organizations, in order to address complex situations. Groups and organizations include employers, employer associations, work teams, committees, community organizations or not-for-profit organizations.

***Community partners and stakeholders is defined as organizations, boards, councils, committees, associations, employers and/or various levels of government that represent and/or actively plan and/or deliver programs, projects or services that address the needs of Indigenous Peoples, youth, seniors, newcomers, persons with disabilities, and/or foreign workers.
