A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (see Note 1).
1. The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
- A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
- An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience
• Significant* experience in administering occupational health and safety programs such action plans and audits – in a multi-disciplinary organization by adhering to policies and procedures.
• Significant* experience in providing advice and guidance to various stakeholders with respect to the occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, or standards.
*Significant experience is defined as approx. two (2) years in the last five (5) years

Information on language requirements
Knowledge
• Knowledge of the Canada Labour Code Part II and Part IV Health and Safety Legislation Governing Federal Jurisdiction Workplaces and the Relevant Codes, Regulations and Standards.
• Knowledge of the principles of prevention in occupational health and safety, including Accident Investigation Practices.
• Knowledge of Hazard Prevention Program and Task Hazard Analysis (THA’s).
• Knowledge of industrial hygiene with regards to standards and legislations.

• Ability to analyze, interpret and make recommendations to senior management.
