The Parole Board of Canada (PBC) is an independent administrative tribunal that, as part of the Canadian criminal justice system, makes conditional release and record suspension decisions, and clemency recommendations.
While both case review officers (AS-02) and hearing officers (AS-03) review, process, and prepare offender case files for decision-makers, hearing officers also provide support, advice and expertise to decision-makers on the application of relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
Both positions also liaise and correspond with a number of key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and the completion of case files.
The Parole Board of Canada contributes to the protection of society by facilitating, as appropriate, the timely reintegration of offenders as law-abiding citizens. Public safety is the primary consideration in all PBC decisions.
Our staff prides themselves in their work and accomplishments making the PBC an employer of choice as we strive to support the Government of Canada's goal of a safe and secure Canada.
