This position is based in Victoria, British Columbia, with the majority of the work being completed in person at the Coast Guard base. Remote work arrangements are not available for this position.
The Cost Recovery Analyst supports the Canadian Coast Guard Mandate as the Federal lead for all ship source and mystery source spills, by drawing together case files at the termination of a response and submitting claims to the Ship Source Oil Pollution Fund on behalf of the crown. This position works closely with Coast Guard response teams and management to maximize the recovery of costs absorbed by the crown during response activities. An understanding of the Canadian spill response regime, Coast Guard Environmental Response program, file management, an eye for detail, and the ability to meet deadlines are critical to success in the role.

Education:
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and /or experience.
Experience:
• Experience in providing strategic advice and recommendations to Management.
• Experience using spreadsheet software such as Excel, at an intermediate level.
• Experience analyzing data and preparing reports for management.
• Experience developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience interpreting and applying regulations, policies, procedures or guidelines.
Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized university.
Experience:
• Experience in leading multi-jurisdictional and/or multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience in supporting maritime response activities.
• Experience in using the Incident Command System.
• Experience working with Indigenous partners.
