Our offices are in the Sir William Logan Building at 580 Booth Street in Ottawa’s Little Italy neighbourhood, steps away from Dow’s Lake, the Rideau Canal, the Arboretum and Preston Street. Intent of the process

The immediate intent of this process is to fill seven positions on an indeterminate basis with various language profiles and various security clearance profiles.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within Natural Resources Canada with various tenures, various language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential, or Bilingual), linguistic requirements (imperative and/or non-imperative) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.), various security requirements, and with various conditions of employment.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

Degree equivalency

Significant and recent experience providing advice and recommendations to clients and management on complex* IT implementation strategies.
Experience in designing, developing, testing, deploying and maintaining applications.
Significant and recent experience working with teams of IT professionals to develop solutions to meet business needs.

* Defined as involving multidisciplinary teams and interfaces with multiple systems and stakeholder groups
