Duties

STREAM 1: AS-05 Senior Business Analyst

As a Senior Business Analyst in the Policy and Operations division of the Parole Board of Canada, you will report to the Manager, Operations.

The position contributes to the design, development, testing, implementation, delivery and support of mission critical IT systems used by the Parole Board of Canada. Main responsibilities of the position includes monitoring and responding to user support emails, collaborating with multiple stakeholders and specifying business requirements. Additionally the position is responsible for developing system release notes, training materials and delivering group training to system users. The position also provides analysis, advice and recommendations related to the designing and validation of business workflows and conducts user acceptance testing.

STREAM 2: AS-06 Senior Business Project Manager

As a Senior Business Project Manager in the Policy and Operations division of the Parole Board of Canada (PBC), you will report to the Manager, Operations.

Main responsibilities of the position includes leading projects in relation to the design, development, testing, implementation, delivery and support of mission critical IT systems used by the Parole Board of Canada. Additionally the position is responsible for overseeing user support, leading the development of system release notes, training materials and delivering group training to system users. The position is also responsible for providing analysis, advice and recommendations related to the designing and validation of business workflows and leading/conducting user acceptance testing.

This is an anticipatory staffing process, the intention is to staff for upcoming vacancies.

EED1 Secondary School Diploma.

STREAM 2
EED1 A valid certification in the area of business analysis, a college diploma or degree from recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, technical writing, social science, criminology, or in any other field relevant to the work to be performed.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

ALL STREAMS
EXP1 Significant* experience using an automated case management system**.

STREAM 1
EXP2 Experience writing documents such as business requirements, release notes or training materials for users of an IT system.
EXP3 Experience participating in project teams involving multiple stakeholders.
EXP4 Experience in making recommendations to clients and/or management regarding process and/or IT system improvements.

STREAM 2
EXP2 Experience in conducting analysis and providing written recommendations to management (manager level and above) related to complex*** issues.
EXP3 Experience in supporting**** IM/IT software implementation (new projects or upgrades) from a business perspective.

**Automated case management system is defined as an electronic system that is used to assess, track, monitor, and evaluate actions and services to meet an individual’s needs.
Note: It can be a combination of experience with different case management systems.

AEX1 Experience working in the criminal justice system.

AEX2 Experience working with the Offender Management System (OMS), Integrated Decision System (IDS), Pardons and Record Suspension System (PARSS) or other automated system which derives its information from the OMS (i.e. Reports of Automated Data Applied to Reintegration (RADAR), Conditional Release Information Management System (CRIMS), Infopol, Victims Module (CRM), etc.).

STREAM 1
AEX3 Experience developing and/or delivering training on the use of computer equipment, software or other technologies.

AEX4 Experience conducting systems testing of an IT system and documenting the results.

STREAM 2
AEX3 Experience in leading project teams involving multiple stakeholders.

AEX4 Experience leading the development and/or delivery of training on the use of computer equipment, software or other technologies.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
