The intent of this process is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis in Dorval (Quebec). However, a pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions in Transport Canada where tenure, language requirements and security requirements may vary.

EDUCATION :
• A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION :
• Possession of a valid Canadian Airline Transport Pilot Licence – Aeroplane Category, with a valid Group 1 instrument rating.
• Possession of a valid Restricted Radio Telephone Operators certificate (endorsed Aeronautical).
EXPERIENCES :
• Minimum of 3000 hours flying experience.
• Minimum of 1500 hours as pilot-in-command of multiengine airplanes.
• Minimum of 300 hours instrument flight time (150 hours must be actual).
• Experience as a training pilot or flight instructor.

KNOWLEDGE :
• Knowledge of aircraft systems, performance and limitations.
• Knowledge of Transport Canada Approved Check Pilot Manual (TP 6533) and Pilot Proficiency Check and Aircraft Type Rating Flight Test Guide - Aeroplanes (TP14727).
• Knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations governing the operation of Commercial Fixed Wing Aircraft under subparts 703 and 704.

ABILITIES :
• Ability to prepare effective lesson plans, use visual aids, and deliver clear instruction to groups or individuals.

EXPERIENCES :
• Instructor experience in Level C or Level D flight simulators.
• Experience as an approved check pilot (ACP), a designated pilot examiner (PE) or Military equivalent whose duties include the evaluation of pilot competencies.
• Experience as a pilot in command of a C550 aircraft.
• Experience as a pilot in command of a C90 aircraft.
• Expérience on multi-crew aircraft.
Secret security clearance
• Wiling and able to work irregular hours which include evening and night operations.
• Willing and able to travel and work overtime as tasked.
• Willing and able to work in an aviation environment (i.e., noise, fumes, and hazards).
• Successful completion of requirements associated with the issuance of a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) in order to obtain and maintain it.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Possess and maintain a valid Canadian passport.
