The intent of this selection process is to staff one (1) permanent position.
A pool of (fully or partially) qualified candidates will be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions with various tenures (determinate period or indeterminate), with various linguistic requirement and for various bilingual linguistic profiles, various security requirements, various conditions of employment and for various locations.

Education
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in physics, geology, chemistry or some other science relevant to the position.
The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
Experience
EX1 - Recent* and significant** experience in leading, designing, permitting and conducting ground geophysical surveys.
EX2 - Extensive*** experience operating and maintaining ground geophysical field equipment.
EX3 - Experience in providing information in area of expertise to clients or stakeholders via two or more of the following types of material:
- Scientific publications or reports
- Presentations
- Project plans or proposals
- Information or training materials
EX4 - Recent* and significant** experience in computer processing of geophysical data and use of GIS software (ArcMap, QGIS etc.).
EX5 - Experience in database management activities and geophysical data archiving.
* Recent experience is defined as experience gained within the last five (5) years.
** Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the execution of a diverse range of activities normally acquired over three (3) years.
*** Extensive is defined as the depth and breadth of experience spanning a minimum of two (2) years.
Education
Graduation with a graduate or post-graduate degree from a recognized university, with acceptable specialization in geophysics, geology, physics, engineering physics or other science relevant to the position

AEX1: Experience leading or supervising the work of a group
AEX2: Experience managing contracts or budgets

Knowledge
K1: Knowledge of common computer programming languages (e.g. C++, Python, R).
K2: Knowledge of principles and concepts of ground geophysical methods particularly seismic reflection and magnetotelluric techniques and their use in geological investigations.
K3: Operational knowledge of ground geophysical systems (including broadband seismographs, multi-channel recording systems and magnetotelluric systems).
