- Plan and coordinate with internal and external partners and stakeholders; tasks could include chairing the meeting, taking minutes, preparing agendas, materials and equipment for the effective delivery of the meetings, and leading discussions.
- Address diverse requests from internal and external partners and clients including senior management, other government departments, the fishing industry, Indigenous groups, environmental organizations and the general public.
- Lead the development and implementation of management plans for commercial and recreational fisheries in a manner consistent with regulatory and policy frameworks.
- Provide advice and recommendations to senior management on a variety of issues related to fisheries management, including harvest strategies and rebuilding plans, aquaculture management and Indigenous fisheries.
- Assist in developing and implementing programs, policies, procedures and legislation related to fisheries management and other marine activities.
- Work collaboratively and consult with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
- Lead the development and implementation of programs, policies, procedures and legislation related to Aquaculture management.
The current intention of the process is to staff one (1) permanent position within the Department of Fisheries and Oceans area office located in Tracadie (NB) and will require a physical presence at the office on a regular basis. It could also serve to staff similar or identical positions with various language profiles, employment tenures, security requirements and conditions of employment at the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada in the area office located in Tracadie (NB).

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position
*Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CO group on June 21, 2021, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
-Significant* experience in providing strategic advice or recommendations to senior management** on complex issues.
-Significant* experience preparing and reviewing written documents (such as but not limited to correspondence, briefing notes, reports, action plans), and preparing or developing presentation decks for senior management or industry officials.
-Experience developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with stakeholders or government partners to advance policies or address issues.
-Experience researching, interpreting and analyzing information from a variety of sources.
*Significant is defined as approximately one (1) year.
** Senior management is defined as Director level and above.
ASSET EXPERIENCE
- Experience in managing financial resources.
- Experience in managing human resources.
- Experience in managing Federal, Provincial, or Territorial relations.
- Experience in the interpretation and application of legislation or regulations pertaining to the management of fisheries, aquatic resources or natural resources.
