Duties

Operational Support Officer (CCG Help Desk)
Processes service requests, incidents reports and preventative or scheduled maintenance for systems supported by the Electronics and Informatics group of the Canadian Coast Guard; provides clients with first level support by performing an assessment and analysis of reported incidents and making attempts to resolve them; escalates service requests to higher support levels; communicate with national and regional support teams to effectively link and coordinate the resolution of service requests and manage feedback with internal and external clients.

As a Special Operating Agency of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), the CCG helps DFO meet its responsibility to ensure safe and accessible waterways for Canadians. Intent of the process

The purpose of this process is to staff an indeterminate position immediately, as well as to create a pool of candidates that will be used to staff Operational Support Officer positions within the Canadian Coast Guard. Positions are located at the Québec city (Québec) Canadian Coast Guard Help Desk.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS :

👨‍🎓EDUCATION :
➝ Recognized training in electronics or informatics.

Degree equivalency

🎓OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION :
➝ Marine Communications and Traffic Services certificate.

📌EXPERIENCE :
➝ Relevant and significant experience* in providing informatics support remotely.
➝ Relevant and significant experience* working in a technical support call center.
➝ Experience in operating the software version of the Maritime Traffic Management Information
System (SIGTM-INNAV).
➝ Experience in the application of maritime navigation concepts.
➝ Experience in the assessment and validation of marine navigation data.

* Relevant and significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full time performance of duties for a minimum of one (1) year of continuous service within the last five (5) years.

Conditions of employment

Secret security clearance

Willing and available to work overtime.

Shift work, 12 hour day shifts with the possibility of night shift.

7 days a week schedule.
