OVERVIEW OF POSITIONS
The goal of this process is to fill a few assistant director positions in electoral operations units at Elections Canada. The incumbents of these positions will manage various programs and projects, supported by different sized teams. These programs and projects will have to be staffed following this advertised process that directly supports the delivery of electoral events.
The programs and projects in question are as follows:
1) Recruitment and Assessment Services: Manage processes for recruiting, assessing and managing the performance of local liaison officers and returning officers. Support returning officers in the context of the poll worker recruitment program and in appointing assistant returning officers.
2) Field Programs and Services Logistics: Manage registration services for special ballot voting, etc.
3) Other positions of a similar profile and term may be filled following this process. These positions fall within the purview of project management related to voting services.
The intent of the process is to fill a minimum of three (3) positions of varying terms.
A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be created to fill positions at the same or equivalent group and level at Elections Canada, of varying terms (indeterminate, specific period, acting, secondment, deployment and assignment) and various bilingual imperative language profiles (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, and CCC/CCC).

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
Significant* experience in identifying and analyzing challenges.
Significant* experience in providing strategic advice and recommendations to senior management.

Significant* experience in managing human and financial resources.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, successful candidates will have to work from home. Once Elections Canada employees are called back to the workplace, successful candidates are expected to alternate between working in the usual office spaces, i.e. at 30 Victoria Street in Gatineau or 440 Coventry in Ottawa (depending on the position), and working remotely, all while maintaining flexible work hours.
A Candidate Achievement Record will be required.
