This process will initially be used to staff a 1-year term position.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various language requirements (English Essential or Bilingual Imperative), various security requirements, various conditions of employment as well as various tenures (acting, assignment/secondment, deployment, term and/or indeterminate) within Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada and Indigenous Services Canada.

Education:
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.
Note:
The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
1. A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
2. An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Occupational Certification:
Current active registration with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) as a general Medical Laboratory Technologist and the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Manitoba (CMLTM).
Experience:
- *Recent and **significant experience working as a Medical Laboratory Technologist.
- Experience leading project teams or groups.
* Recent is defined as within the last three (3) years.
** Significant is defined as a minimum of two (2) years of experience.

Asset Qualifications:
- Successful completion of an associated X-Ray Assist Program OR Technical Assistant training and certification in Radiography acceptable to the established standards of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba.
- Experience working with First Nations communities.
- Experience working in an acute care and hospital environment.

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
