Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one indeterminate English Essential position in any one of the listed locations depending where the selected candidate resides.

A pool of qualified or partially assessed candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures, language requirements, and security requirements in various locations within Public Services and Procurement Canada.

EDUCATION

Successful completion of a post-secondary education (University or College) from a recognized institution in a real property building/construction field such as Architecture, Engineering (Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical), Construction Management, or Interior Design.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

-*Significant experience in delivering **real property projects

-*Significant experience in planning and managing various phases of **real property projects with ***varying degrees of complexity and magnitude

-Experience in coordinating contract administration on **real property projects

-Experience in managing quality, finances and schedules of projects

-Experience working with multidisciplinary teams

-Experience reviewing specifications and drawings for construction projects

-Experience conducting site inspections

*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience associated with full-time performance of these duties for period of approximately three years.

**Real property includes all property asset acquisitions or improvements, including entering into a lease, and doing corrective or betterment work such as fit-up of accommodation space, construction, renovation and remediation of a built-work (building, bridge, dam, road, etc.) or on land. They are deemed to include design, demolition, disposal and maintenance projects or any project activity related to property assets or space.

***Various degrees of complexity and magnitude is defined as dollar value of projects or program of work that is approximately $3 million or larger with at least one additional challenge such as large number of stakeholders requiring specific governance and organized communications, important heritage component, multi-disciplinary consulting team, interrelated dependencies with other projects or programs, alternative form of delivery, or approvals required from Central Authorities (such as Treasury Board or a Board of Directors or equivalent in the private sector).

ASSET OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATIONS

-Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or a recognized Project Management Diploma/Certificate.

-LEED Accreditation

ASSET EXPERIENCE

-Experience using Auto Cad software

-Experience planning and managing near shore marine projects, such as breakwaters, harbour improvements, wharf renovation/construction.

-Experience planning and managing office building projects, including office fit-up, renovations or new construction.

-Experience planning and managing secure facility projects, including construction in prisons, or of police stations/detachments or highly sensitive facilities.

-Experience delivering projects with heritage sensitivities, such as those in Federal Heritage Buildings Review Office recognized properties.

-Experience in delivering highways, roads and bridge projects.

-Experience in cost estimating and project planning

-Experience working with a tendering process, particularly in a government context.

-Experience using a Quality Management System.

-Experience following the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Guide.
