An Intercept Monitor Analyst is responsible for the collection, processing and monitoring of intercepted data, from a variety of connectivity methods and devices. This requires a level of multi-tasking simultaneously on a computer in a confined and/or restricted workspace, while wearing a headset and having constant exposure to multiple computer screens, noises, and voices for extended periods of time. Intercept Monitor Analysts may be exposed to violent and/or traumatic events, abusive language, and disturbing graphic material when conducting intercept monitoring activities. Intercept Monitor Analysts work shift work (24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year) and at times, may be required to work alone on shift.
A pool of qualified candidates inclusive of Public Service (PS) employees and Civilian Members (CM); may be established through this process to fill current and future vacancies, on a temporary or permanent, part-time or full-time basis within RCMP.
Please note that an assignment appointment requires approval of your supervisor.
Should a CM be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member.

Experience applying the Criminal Code, such as Part VI pertaining to the interception of telecommunications.
Experience working as an Intercept Monitor Analyst using the Central Communication Intercept System (CenCIS).

Ability to transcribe or summarize audio or text from a language found in either Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe or Oceania into English or French.

Top Secret security clearance - Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain RCMP security clearance involves a security/reliability interview and a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity which includes reference checks, verification of credit/financial status, education, employment, etc. As such, the process may take several weeks or months to complete.
