Responsibilities will include:
Financial accounting, financial management and internal control for a region of ACOA; providing advice and guidance to the regional vice president, management committee and staff of the region, OGDs, Provincial Government, stakeholders and clients.
Directs, manages and coordinates the processing, verification and reporting of grants and contributions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, supplier and employee accounts; exercises control of account balances, cash, commitments and expenditures, contribution repayments, and report contents, and directs the monthly reconciliation of General Ledger to Central Accounts including investigation and corrective action.
Directs, manages and coordinates the financial planning process for the region; including responsibility for allocation, forecasting and reporting.

The immediate need is to staff an indeterminate position located in Fredericton.
A pool of qualified candidates will also be established for future staffing needs in Fredericton and Moncton. Only candidates willing to be working from Fredericton or Moncton will be considered.

EDUCATION
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management Group; or *eligibility to a recognized professional accounting designation.
The recognized professional accounting designations are Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified General Accountant (CGA).
*Eligibility: means the Candidate has completed all course requirements and the work experience required by the professional accounting association.
EXPERIENCE
1) Experience in providing strategic advice, analysis, briefings, presentation, reports and recommendations to **senior management on complex financial management issues
2) Experience in interpreting and applying policies, guidelines or procedures.
3) Experience in extracting, compiling and analyzing financial information.
4) Significant* experience working in at least two (2) of the following finance areas:
a) financial planning;
b) external reporting;
c) resource management;
d) financial advisory services;
e) accounting operations;
f) financial systems;
g) financial policy;
h) internal controls;
i) corporate accounting.
*Significant experience for each area is defined as having performed the related activities with a complexity and depth as well as a demonstrated level of responsibility and autonomy over a period of at least two (2) years. **Senior management is defined as Director or above

Possession of a recognized professional accounting designation (CPA)
EXPERIENCE (ASSET)
1) Experience in managing financial and human resources
2) Experience in financial planning, budgeting and forecasting. Please note if for grant or contribution programs.
3) Experience in preparing Trial Balances and/or Financial Statements
4) Experience in advanced Excel functionalities including queries and pivot tables
5) Experience using and working with Microsoft Power BI
6) Experience in the delivery of grants and contribution programs
