Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar AS-01 positions with various linguistic profiles and/or requirements as well as tenures (Acting, Determinate, and Indeterminate appointments) and/or the security clearance (reliability or secret), which may vary according to the position being staffed.

The pool could be used to offer acting appointments under exceptional circumstances in order to protect employee's indeterminate status.

EDUCATION:

•A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (see Note 1).

Notes:
1. The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
o A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
o An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience is defined as two years experience working in an office environment that required tasks such as: typing, filing, sending and replying to e-mails, answering telephone inquiries, etc, and training in the basic use of computers.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

•Experience providing administrative support services*.

*Administrative support services is defined as, for example, but not limited to: managing agendas, scheduling and organizing meetings/teleconferences, preparing and collating meeting file folders and background materials, procuring office equipment and supplies, maintaining a filing system, data entry and other related duties.

•Experience in using one or more of the following: word processing software (ex. Google Docs, Microsoft Word), spreadsheet applications (ex. Microsoft Excel), email applications (ex. Gmail, Microsoft Outlook, etc.), and other online data retrieval applications

•Experiencing working with Indigenous communities.

•Experience maintaining tracking tools and organizational systems
