Work environment

The main role of the lead division involved in this process is to provide data access to researchers. Presently, we are seeking individuals to fill 2 types of positions involved in support to access.

The first is to help with the contract processing and updating data access requests. The work involves providing support for researchers applying for microdata access, validation of security, project acceptance, researcher onboarding and the compilation of the contract for access.

The second is to support diverse programs in getting access to varied data files. The work involves retrieval, hosting, and maintenance of the data in our systems, supporting users, liaising with internal clients, and developing and running reports.

Intent of the process

This process is intended to staff Data Production and Diffusion Officers at the EC-02 group and level.

A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions with various tenures, linguistic requirements, security requirements, conditions of employment and locations.

Employees at level could be considered first for deployment opportunities and employees who are members of the following Employment Equity groups: Aboriginal persons, persons with disabilities, visible minorities, women could be considered first for appointment.

EDUCATION

EDU - Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program with acceptable specialization in social science, statistics, library/archival work or a law-related field.

OR

An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

EX01: Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;
EX02: Significant* experience providing service to internal and/or external clients either by e-mail, in person or by telephone;
EX03: Experience in following procedures with multiple steps.

*Significant is associated with full-time performance of duties associated to client services for a cumulative period of minimum two (2) years.

ABILITY
