This is an Inventory. When you apply to Inventories, you are not applying for a specific vacancy, but to an inventory for future vacancies.
Transport Canada has various CR-04 positions such as: Financial Assistant, Accounting Clerk, Facilities and Corporate Security Assistant, Operational Support, Operations Clerk, Program Services Clerk, Service Team Support and Special Records Support.
A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff identical or similar positions on a permanent or temporary basis in Moncton (New Brunswick), Dartmouth (Nova Scotia), Halifax (Nova Scotia) and St. John’s (Newfoundland and Labrador).

EDUCATION:
- Successful completion of two years of secondary school or employer-approved alternatives* (see Note 1).
Note 1: The employer-approved alternatives to two years of secondary school are:
- A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to two years of secondary school; or
- An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience conducting general administrative duties*
- Experience using various computer software from the Microsoft suite (at a minimum: Word, Excel, AND Outlook)**
* Administrative duties refers to activities that support the day to day operations of an organization; these generally include (but are not limited to) scheduling, managing and distributing information within the office, entering/tracking information in databases, answering phones, booking travel, managing meeting logistics, electronic information management, scanning documents, tracking budget expenses, minutes, etc.
**Or a comparable alternative such as other word processing, spreadsheet and email/calendar software.
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience conducting financial management administrative duties, such as: entering financial transactions in a system, processing contracts, processing accounts receivable or payable, or auditing of information against financial policies.
- Experience working with Information Management Systems, such as MS Access, Oracle, payroll systems, workflow tracking systems, etc.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Consent to work overtime on rare occasion or on a volunteer basis, with appropriate notice.
- Consent to and ability to travel rarely, within the Atlantic region. Approximately once or twice per year, with advance notice.

◦ How does an inventory work?
An inventory is a selection process that can be used by various hiring managers to meet their current and future needs. As a result, you will apply only once to be considered for multiple job opportunities at the CR-04 level.
◦ Why was my application automatically rejected when I submitted it?
In order to be placed in the inventory, you must meet the essential education qualification and the essential experience qualification at the time you submit your application. If you receive a message "Application rejected at screening" immediately after submitting your application, you answered "No" to one or more of the screening question assessing these essential qualifications. If you have incorrectly indicated "No", simply retrieve your application and update your answer(s).
◦ What does "Registered in the inventory" mean?
Once your application has been successfully submitted to the inventory, your status may be: "Date of disclosure of results: Listed in the inventory". This automatically generated message by the system means that your application can be considered. You will be informed in the event that your application is considered as part of a process generated from this inventory.
◦ What happens if my application expires?
Your application will be kept in the inventory for 90 days. A notice will be posted in the "My Job File" menu of your account 10 days before your application expires. If you do not take this into account, your application will be deactivated and it will no longer be considered for submissions from this inventory. In the event that your application expires during the effective period of this inventory, a notice will be posted in your account. If you wish to confirm your interest and reactivate your application, select the "Renewal of my application" link.
◦ My personal information has changed, what should I do?
Simply update them in the "Personal Information" section, in the "My Job File" menu of your account. This will allow us to have your current contact information and ensure adequate follow-up in the event that your application is considered as part of a process issued from this inventory.
