POSITION LOCATION:
This position is located in Toronto; however, the successful candidate may work from one of the OSFI offices across Canada (Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, or Vancouver).

As a result of the global pandemic, OSFI employees are currently working from home. Duties

OSFI is seeking to fill a Managing Director for the Accounting Policy Division.

The Accounting Policy Division (APD) is OSFI’s center of expertise in accounting and auditing standards and processes for Federally Regulated Financial Institutions (FRFIs). APD delivers expert accounting, auditing and public disclosure advice to other divisions within OSFI and is active in contributing to the domestic and international accounting and assurance standard-setting processes on initiatives related to financial institutions.

Reporting to the Assistant Superintendent, Policy Innovation & Stakeholder Affairs, the Managing Director is responsible for:
• identifying and assessing key Canadian and international accounting and auditing standards and trends that impact FRFIs and influencing their development and implementation;
• leading a team of professionals and actively develop, coach and manage Director level staff;
• providing guidance, management direction and operational oversight on a portfolio of projects and initiatives related to the APD mandate;
• providing strategic advice to Senior Management and OSFI Executives;
• developing and maintaining effective relationships with internal OSFI colleagues and key external stakeholders (i.e. national and international standard setters and regulators, financial institutions, industry associations).

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
• A degree from a post-secondary institution OR an acceptable combination of relevant professional industry education and experience.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
• Significant* experience in leading analysis related to complex** accounting or auditing issues.
• Significant* experience in presenting policy recommendations relating to financial services in banking and/or insurance, to senior executives.

• Experience at the senior management level leading and developing a team.
