Intent of the process

The intent is to fill a full-time 1 year term vacancy.

A pool of qualified candidates (fully assessed or partially assessed) may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level. This process may be used for various positions and tenures (including but not limited to term and indeterminate appointments, internal assignments, secondments, deployments, acting appointments, casual) as well as various locations, security requirements, language requirements and conditions of employment. The pool of qualified candidates may also be shared and accessed with other federal government departments.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
• Successful completion of secondary school education according to provincial/territorial standards or Public Service Commission approved alternatives, such as a combination of education, experience, and/or training

Degree equivalency

Experience:
• Experience in providing administrative and office management services to management and staff such as: arranging meetings, preparing short reports/letters and minutes, monitoring budget expenditures, making travel arrangements, managing the calendar, receiving and directing telephone calls.
• Experience in financial support services such as: assisting in budgeting, recording transactions, developing and seeking required approvals, reporting on expenditures/balances and providing advice.
• Experience in the use of office technology such as MS software applications for word processing, spreadsheets, database, e-mail, preparing presentations, charts and using correspondence tracking and Internet.

Knowledge:
• Knowledge of administrative procedures such as: the preparation and processing of official correspondence and travel arrangements.

Education:
• Completion of post-secondary training related to the provision of administrative services.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
• Experience inputting, extracting, compiling and processing data utilizing automated systems and software such as: CCM, CCM Mercury or CCM Plus or other electronic document tracking system.
• Experience monitoring budget controls and preparing budget reports.
