FLEXIBLE WORK ARRANGEMENTS
During the COVID-19 pandemic, federal employees demonstrated their ability to adapt to new ways of working both on-site and remotely, while delivering results for Canadians. We have therefore taken inspiration from experience and the Canadian Space Agency will adopt a hybrid and flexible work arrangement as part of its work environment.
Depending on the nature of the work required by the position and operational needs, hybrid and flexible work arrangements, such as teleworking, a combination of on-site work and teleworking, compressed work schedule will be possibilities. Employees who will work from home and who will have to travel to the workplace will have to do so at their own expense.
A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates will be established to fill FI-01 and FI-02 positions with various tenures (indeterminate, specified period, acting, secondment, assignment) within the Canadian Space Agency.

EDUCATION:
FI-01
• Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program with specialization in : accounting, finance, commerce, business administration or economics.
OR
• Possession of the Government of Canada Financial Management Certificate.
FI-02
• A degree* from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management Group
OR
• Eligibility for a recognized professional accounting designation. The recognized professional accounting designations are Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified General Accountant (CGA).
*The term “degree” refers to a baccalaureate as established by educational authorities.
EXPERIENCE:
FI-01
• Recent and significant experience* in at least one of the following areas:
o Financial planning and Management and/or Financial Management Advisory Services
o Costing
o Accounting operations and/or Corporate Accounting
o Internal controls (assessment and documentation of controls)
o Financial policies
o Financial systems
*Recent and significant experience is defined as experience whose complexity and diversity are associated with the performance of the duties for at least 6 months of the last three years during which these activities were core duties, and not occasional or temporary duties.
FI-02
Recent and significant experience* in at least two of the following areas:
o Financial planning and Management and/or Financial Management Advisory Services
o Costing
o Accounting operations and/or Corporate Accounting
o Internal controls (assessment and documentation of controls)
o Financial policies
o Financial systems

• Experience in human resources management.

• Experience in the interpretation and application of financial policies, directives and procedures.
• Experience in accounting operations (accounts payable) and/or corporate accounting (including end-of-period activities and reporting, such as but not limited to: monthly journal entries, trial balance, public accounts, proactive disclosure).
• Experience in internal controls or conducting reviews (tests, inspections, audits) in the financial management field.
• Experience in costing.
• Experience as SAP Financial System Analyst (Configuration and/or testing)
• Experience in working with SAP
• Experience in working in the Federal government
• Experience with the budget cycle for the Federal government (including but not limited to: Annual reference level update, Main Estimates, Supplementary Estimates, Year-end instructions)
