The intent of this appointment process is to staff one indeterminate position. A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff positions for future vacancies of various tenures and various language requirements in Public Services and Procurement Canada.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in physics, geology, chemistry, environmental sciences, environmental studies, environmental engineering, biology, ecology, chemistry, earth sciences, physical geography, or other science or applied science directly relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
1. Experience in assisting with, preparing or reviewing environmental projects or programs related to any one of the following:
• climate change resiliency
• greenhouse gas reduction
• green procurement
• non-hazardous waste management
• species at risk
• impact assessment
• potable water
• designated substances
• storage tanks
• environmental compliance audits
2. Experience in working with internal or external stakeholders during the development or implementation of environmental projects/programs
3. Experience in implementing project management principles (for example: scope development, terms of reference, schedule development, budget control)

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Education:
1. Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field relevant to the duties of the position
2. Licensed as a Professional Engineer or an Architect in Canada.
3. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification
4. FitWel or WELL Certification
5. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI)
6. Certified Energy Manager (CEM) Certification

Degree equivalency

Experience:
1. Experience working directly with federal, provincial or municipal environmental regulatory agencies, Indigenous Communities or other stakeholders regarding environmental projects
2. Experience in sustainable building strategies including: energy efficiency, water conservation, sustainable use of resources, non-hazardous solid waste management, building certification such as Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) etc.
3. Experience in managing or conducting climate change resiliency projects
4. Experience in managing or conducting sustainable development strategies or targets, or environmental management systems
5. Experience in managing or conducting projects related to zero carbon, greenhouse gas accounting, reporting and reduction, embodied carbon, or green procurement
6. Experience in preparing or reviewing environmental impact assessments for projects in accordance with federal or provincial legislation
7. Experience in managing or conducting or reviewing species at risk inventories or related biological/ecological studies
8. Experience in interpreting drinking water quality sampling results
9. Experience in managing or conducting hazardous materials assessments or studies (for example: Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), halocarbons, storage tanks, or designated substances)
10. Experience in managing or reviewing archaeology reports and studies.

Operational Requirements:
1. Possession of a valid class “G” driver license or equivalent may be required, or personal mobility to the extent normally associated with the possession of a valid driver’s license
2. Willing and able to work overtime, as required
