This is founded on a principle of a renewed, nation-to-nation relationship with Indigenous Peoples, based on recognition of rights, respect, co-operation, and partnership.

Indigenous Services Canada is committed to the identification of the best models for delivering improved services to Indigenous Peoples and improve accountability to Indigenous Peoples for the quality of services delivered, including: work to leverage the ingenuity and understanding of Indigenous Peoples as well as experts from the private sector, provincial, territorial, and municipal governments and international experts on service delivery. It will be expected for you to assess how Indigenous Peoples experience the delivery of government services on a day-to-day basis and identify ways to improve delivery that are holistic, community-based, and put the needs of the person first.

Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions, with various tenures depending on organizational needs (Indeterminate, Acting and Specified Period), within Indigenous Services Canada in Edmonton.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable
specialization in Native Studies, Social sciences, history, economics, law, business administration, commerce, public administration or in any other field relevant to the work to be performed OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience defined as successful completion of 3 or more years of experience in a relevant field supplemented by relevant training or successful course work.

For the acceptable combination of education, training and experience, candidates must provide a list of completed courses as well as a description of relevant experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

- Experience providing analysis and making recommendations relative to program service delivery

- Experience monitoring operations or financial resources

K1: Knowledge of key issues or initiatives (provincial or national) impacting Indigenous communities in Alberta Region

Stream 1: Social programs and Child and Family Services
K2: Knowledge of legislation administered by the Department of Indigenous Services Canada
K3: Knowledge of the ISC Social Programs including Child and Family Services, Income Assistance, Assisted Living, Family Violence Prevention Program and Urban

Stream 2: Education
K4: Knowledge of Department of Indigenous Services Canada programs and services related to Education

ABILITIES (Applicable to both streams):
