Duties

Assets and Facilities Management Unit

What Do We Do: Manage Buildings, Manage Contracts, Deliver Projects
Our department is a key provider of services to other government departments, one of those services being Real Property. Our team oversees the day-to-day operations of the buildings that contain office space for Government of Canada employees in the Ontario Region; whether they be buildings owned by our department or space that we rent from private sector landlords. Our clients are the other government departments that occupy these spaces, and we ensure that the standards of the space meet legislative requirements and Government of Canada polices. Positions within this unit are in areas such as: lease administration, real property service contract administration, project coordination, and property management, just to name a few!


Accommodation Management Unit

What We Do: Plan, Develop, and Deliver Projects for Federal Tenants
Our department is a key provider of services to other government departments, one of those being Real Property. In the position of Accommodation Manager, you will lead multi-disciplinary teams to plan, develop, execute and deliver space based real property solutions for federal tenants. Managing a portfolio of real property clients you will undertake the financial management of real property space projects, including scope, budget and schedule. Ensuring high quality client service for both internal and external clients is paramount to the position.

Intent of the process

This is an anticipatory process. This selection process will be used to staff various AS-05 positions in the Accommodations Management and/or Assets and Facilities Management unit at Public Services and Procurement Canada in the Ontario Region. The intent of this appointment process is to establish a pool of qualified candidates. The results of this process may be used to staff same or similar positions for future vacancies of various tenures at Public Services and Procurement Canada in the Ontario Region.

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

Experience

EX1 – Significant* experience in providing strategic advice or recommendations to management based on information from various sources
EX2 – Significant* experience in preparing information materials such as briefing notes, business cases, visual presentations, summaries or reports for clients or stakeholders
EX3 – Experience in leading, collaborating or consulting with multi-disciplinary** teams
EX4 – Experience in managing financial resources (at a minimum budgeting and forecasting)
EX5 – Experience working in a client-based service environment and interacting directly with clients
