Effective June 20, 2022 the vaccination requirement for the Core Public Administration (CPA), including the RCMP, will be suspended. As of that date, employees of the CPA will no longer be required to be vaccinated as a condition of employment.
The incumbent will be involved in laboratory based projects that involve the application of molecular biology tools to samples from aquatic species (such as fish and invertebrates).
This position will be located at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography (BIO). BIO is a multi-disciplinary, federal government institute with a focus on the science and management of the oceans. It is Canada’s largest centre for multi-disciplinary ocean research and houses science groups from DFO, NRCan (Natural Resources Canada), and ECCC (Environment and Climate Change Canada). Scientists at BIO perform targeted research to provide peer-reviewed advice and support to government decision making on a broad range of ocean topics. These topics include sovereignty, safety and security, environmental protection, the health of the oceans, safe and accessible waterways, the sustainable use of natural resources (fisheries, minerals, oil & gas) and the integrated management of large ocean management areas.
