A Detachment Support Assistant provides administrative and operational support services for police officers and other employees at a Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) detachment. This position also provides front counter and telephone assistance, services and information to the general public.
Detachment Service Assistants and Administrative Assistant positions require the ability to use critical thinking skills to problem solve, anticipate needs, stay current with applicable policies and procedures as well as be adaptable in an ever-changing work environment. There are many distractions within an RCMP Detachment and candidates must be versatile and able to manage multiple tasks at once, with the understanding that constant interruptions throughout the day will be unavoidable.
Candidates must also have sound organizational skills, be a self-starter, possess a calm demeanor under pressure and have the ability to lead by example.

This inventory is for casual employment in "M" Division (Whitehorse).
