ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
• Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
Degree equivalency:
EXPERIENCE:
• Recent experience working in food services within a commercial or institutional setting.
• Experience in the preparation and distribution of short order cooking.
KNOWLEDGE:
• Knowledge of food preparation and service techniques (e.g. portion control, measuring ingredients, operating kitchen equipment etc).
• Knowledge of preparation and food handling procedures.
• Knowledge of workplace safety requirements, hygiene and sanitation practices.
• Knowledge of safe lifting and carrying techniques.
ABILITIES:
• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations accurately.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally.
• Ability to provide training.
PERSONAL SUITABILITY:
• Work in a team
• Judgment
• Dependability
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
• Successful completion of a secondary school diploma.
• Possession of a valid recognized Safe Food Handling Program certification.
• Professional Culinary Art diploma.
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience working with cash register or Point of sale system.
• Experience working in a correctional environment (institutional or community office).
