Who are we?
The London Research and Development Centre (London RDC) located in London, ON was established in 1951. It is one of the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s (AAFC) network of 20 research and development centres. The research side conducts research in the areas of air, water and soil, development of sustainable and profitable crop production systems for field crops and integrated pest management in the heart of one of the most intensive, diverse and productive agri-food regions in Canada.

The Storesperson manages and supervises a multi-function warehouse and supplies services to the London RDC personnel for purchasing, receiving, shipping, storage, surplus, management and distribution of requested materials; fleet management; and, the supervision of staff and coordination of warehouse office activities.

The need is to staff one full-time determinate position with the possibility to extend or to staff one full-time indeterminate position.
A pool of qualified and partially qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures as well as various linguistic requirements.

Education:
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Experience:
Experience working in a stores or warehouse environment.
Experience in supervising employees.
Experience maintaining supply inventory.
Experience using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) or equivalent and web browsers.
Experience:
Experience in using a computerized inventory management system (for example, SAP).
Experience in managing an employer assigned credit card.

Conditions of Employment:
The incumbent of this position is required to work on-site, as such, work from home is not an option for this position. The position is located at the London RDC at 1391 Sandford Street, London, Ontario. As part of the duties, the incumbent will occasionally be required to travel and work on-site at the Vineland location, located at 4902 Victoria Avenue, Vineland Station.
Possession of a valid driver’s license.
Ability and willingness to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, footwear and clothing.
Ability and willingness to work under variable environmental/weather conditions.
Ability and willingness to handle hazardous materials.
Ability and willingness to lift materials up to 20 kg.
Ability and willingness to undertake training related to the duties of the position.
