Work environment

Health Canada (HC) is the federal department responsible for helping Canadians maintain and improve their health. Within HC, the Information Management Services Directorate (IMSD) is the strategy, policies, infrastructure, tools and skilled personnel necessary for Health Canada to make effective use of information management and information technology (IM/IT) in the delivery of departmental programs and services. This includes developing, implementing and communicating IM/IT policies, standards and guidelines; facilitating the planning and delivery of corporate IM/IT projects; and providing coordination and secretariat support to the department's IM/IT committees.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to build a pool of qualified candidates to draw from as needs arise within Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada.

Education:
EED: Successful completion of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
EX1: Experience consulting with internal and/or external stakeholders.
EX2: Experience providing client services.
EX3: Experience using the Microsoft Suite of applications (ex. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
EX4: Experience conducting searches in document management systems (ex. GCDocs, LRS) and/or various databases.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Asset Education:
AED: Successful completion of Post secondary education from a recognized post-secondary institution with a certification relevant to the position (ex. Certification in the field of Information Management).

Degree equivalency

Asset Experience:
AEX1: Experience working with an electronic document and records management system (EDRMS) such as GCDocs, Sharepoint, or RDIMS.
AEX2: Experience assessing existing records and the needs of the organization for the retention of material.
AEX3: Experience managing paper and/or electronic records throughout their information lifecycle.
AEX4: Experience developing and/or delivering coaching or classroom training or presentations.
AEX5: Experience in digitization within the Government of Canada.
AEX6: Experience in classifying and indexing information.
AEX7: Experience using Microsoft 365 (Sharepoint, Teams, and Channels).
