The immediate intent of this process is to staff 1 English essential position on a permanent basis.

A pool of qualified and/or partially assessed candidates may be established to staff similar positions with various tenures (indeterminate, term, deployment, assignment, secondment or acting opportunities) security profiles and language requirements within Transport Canada (TC).

EDUCATION
ED : A secondary school diploma, or a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission (PSC) test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
EX1 : Experience* in working with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
EX2 : Experience* in providing administrative support services in two or more of the following areas: human resources, budgeting, purchasing, contracting, travel, calendar management or preparing correspondence.
EX3 : Experience* in providing services to multiple managers or clients.
EX4 : Experience* in conducting research, reviewing and analyzing information to provide recommendations.

* Experience refers to the breadth and depth of the experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of related activities for a cumulative period of (6) months.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

EDUCATION
AED : Completion of a degree or certificate in a related field to the position to be filled.

AEX1 : Experience developing, implementing, maintaining and updating procedures for the improvement of work processes for a team.
AEX2 : Experience in the preparation, tracking and writing of responses to department correspondence and inquiries.
AEX3 : Experience with the analysis and processing of access to information request(s).
AEX4 : Experience in responding to information requests, dealing with clients and liaising with stakeholders.
AEX5 : Experience in managing or supervising a team.
AEX6 : Experience in extracting data, compiling and analyzing financial information and preparing reports.
AEX7 : Experience working under pressure and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.

ASSESSMENT - GENERAL INFORMATION
Random selection, invoking asset qualifications may be used in conjunction with other volume management strategies that can be applied at any stage in the staffing process.

Reference checks may be sought.

An interview may be administered.

A test may be administered.

ASSESSMENT – RESCHEDULING
Rescheduling will only be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Supporting documentation will be required at the time of your request to be rescheduled.

Possible reasons for alternate assessment dates:
· Medical reason with doctor's certificate;
· Death in the immediate family;
· Professional obligation (proof required);
· Confirmation of pre-approved travel plans; or
· Religious reasons.

ASSESSMENT – REFERENCE CHECKS
Those selected for assessment should be prepared to provide the names and contact information of recent references (recent is defined as within the last 2 years):

References must be available, have an in-depth knowledge of your work/projects, and must be able to answer specific questions pertaining to your experience, achievements and strengths.

References that are not reachable and/or not available are lowering the candidates’ chances to be found fully qualified and be considered for appointment. When providing names of references, it is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure they are available to respond in a timely manner.

ASSESSMENT - EDUCATION
Candidates may be required to provide proof of education as part of this selection process.
