The Compliance Promotion Program performs outreach activities that aim to increase the regulated communities:
• Awareness of laws and regulations,
• Understanding of the requirements of these laws and regulation, and
• Awareness of the benefits of compliance and penalties of non-compliance
The aim is to strengthen environmental protection by increasing compliance with ECCC’s regulatory instruments (both voluntary and enforceable) so that they are effective in achieving their desired environmental results. We work mostly with the Canadian Environmental Protection Act and the Fisheries Act.
You will work with colleagues from across ECCC to plan and deliver outreach activities, and contribute to the development and updating of regulations and policies.
