Who are we?

Chief Finances Results Delivery Office (CFRDO) is responsible for IM/IT governance, planning and strategies and has the leadership role on information management within the Departments. We support a total of 299 IT applications for Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) and Crown-Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC). This ensures sound stewardship of information and technology which encompasses fiscal responsibility in meeting client needs and expectations both internal and external to government. CFRDO ensures the availability of high-quality, authoritative information to decision makers, thus enabling departments to be more responsive and accountable to Canadians.

The Information Management Branch (IMB) within CRFDO delivers Information Management and Information Technology (IM&IT) products and services across ISC and CIRNAC. The main focus of the Branch is to assist stakeholders and clients in meeting their business goals through the reliable, secure and cost-effective use of IM&IT tools. The Branch is comprised of 6 lines of business, as well as the Chief Information Officer's office.

Duties

• Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand the business needs and create an IT project plan that aligns with the strategic objectives, applied to Government of Canada and Departmental IT/IM initiatives
• Coordinate and organize all internal resources to ensure successful delivery of projects within scope and budget, and maintain day to day operations of IT environment
• Conduct team meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding IT infrastructure projects and on-going operations.
• Recommend IT strategies, policies, and procedures by identifying problems, evaluating trends, and anticipating requirements
• Assign and oversee the daily tasks of team members while ensuring all subordinates are actively working towards established milestones (IM/IT Manager stream only)
• Provide detailed root analysis on deployment actions, successful or un-successful, as required
• Manage and monitor information technology related to business activities
• Evaluate and communicate IT business value and performance
• Monitor developments in new technology and make recommendations to Senior Management, in compliance with Government of Canada policies and directives
• Lead and recommend continuous process and procedural improvements in support of the IT infrastructure and contract management lifecycle to meet evolving business and technology requirements.

Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
