Intent of the process

The immediate intention of this process is to staff one (1) Analyst position.

A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions at Elections Canada with varying tenures (such as indeterminate, specified period, acting) and various bilingual linguistic profiles (BBB/BBB, CCB/CCB, CBC/CBC or CCC/CCC).

EDUCATION

Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another speciality relevant to the position to be staffed.
Or
At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met via this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

Note: Indeterminate period incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the CS group.

EXPERIENCES

EX1 - Recent* and significant** experience in one or more of the following IT/IM disciplines:
• Infrastructure/Operations
• Application Development, Database and Data Administration.
• Security
• Telecommunications
• IT Project Management
• IT business line support (client relations)

EX2 - Recent* and significant** experience analyzing user IT requirements

EX3 - Recent* and significant** experience implementing, support or testing IT solutions

*Recent experience is defined as experience that was acquired within the last five years.
**Significant experience is defined as experience that was a core part of the applicant’s employment and that would normally be acquired over a period of one (1) year or more by performing the full range of activities noted.

- Membership in a professional association related to IM/IT field.
