Do you love working with numbers? Do you want to be part of a dynamic and diverse team? The Fisheries and Harbour Management Sector within Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) is currently in need of an individual to work in this sector’s financial management team. The daily duties include, but are not limited to, the budget planning cycle, financial forecasting, ongoing monitoring, reporting and financial analysis. You will also work in SAP, a newly implemented financial platform aimed to align and modernize financial, procurement, and real property system and processes throughout the Government of Canada.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada has been recognized as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People for the past four years. In the Gulf Region, the post-pandemic return to work requirements is progressive. For this position, the employee will be required to work from the Moncton office a minimum of two day a week.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one (1) indeterminate position in Moncton, NB. A list of qualified candidates will also be established and could be used to staff similar positions with various employment tenures, security requirements, language requirements and conditions of employment within Fisheries and Oceans Canada.

EDUCATION
A post-secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
• Experience working with Microsoft Excel, including retrieving and manipulating data
• Experience in analyzing data and producing report
• Experience in providing advice to management
• Experience developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with clients or partners

• Experience in working on business planning processes
• Experience analyzing and consolidating data from various sources in order to develop options, provide strategic advice and make recommendations to managers
• Experience in using financial information systems
• Experience manipulating data using features of Excel such as but not limited to formulas, functions, pivot table, or charts
