This position is in the Real Property Business Management Accounts Payable unit.
Duties as a Financial and Business Assistant would include, but not limited to:
• Pre-audit of accounts payable documentation prior to payment
• Authentication of documentation and authorities for the processing of transactions
• Financial analysis of expenditures and revenues
• General document management
• Liaison with project managers about project financials

The intent of this appointment process is to establish a pool of qualified candidates. The immediate use of the pool will be to staff two temporary positions. However, the results of this process may be used to staff same or similar positions for future vacancies of various tenures at Public Services and Procurement Canada in the Ontario Region.

Education:
A secondary school diploma or an *acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
*An acceptable combination would include training courses relevant to the position along with 2 years of work or volunteer experience relevant to the position.
Experience:
Ex1: Experience creating or maintaining spreadsheets using spreadsheet software (such as Microsoft Excel)
Ex2: Experience in one of the following: data entry, document verification, accounts verification, accounts payable, accounts receivable
Ex3: Experience reviewing financial documents such as invoices, contracts, purchase requisitions or purchase orders
Education:
Completion of at least 2 years of post-secondary education in a field related to accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics.
Experience:
AEx1: Experience using an accounting or financial system in a work environment
AEx2: Experience working with tight deadlines or deadlines that change on short notice
