Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) is dedicated to building and promoting a diverse, equitable and inclusive workforce, representative of Canadian society. All candidates who believe they are qualified are encouraged to apply, including Black, other racialized and Indigenous peoples, women, persons with disabilities and persons of the LGBTQ2+ community.

Presently, the official location (designated workplace*) of the positons to be staffed is Place du Portage – Phase IV in the National Capital Region (NCR). However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Income Security and Social Development employees are required to work from home. When an eventual return to the workplace will be possible, there may be, at the manager’s discretion or based on operational requirements, a continued option or requirement to work from a different ESDC/Service Canada Office location or from an employee’s residence located in Canada. Therefore, individuals who believe they meet the listed essential qualifications of the position, regardless of where they live or work, are encouraged to apply.

* Designated workplace: location of work or business address where the employee would work if a telework, hoteling or remote working arrangement was not in place.

AT-LEVEL CANDIDATES: Indeterminate employees at the same or equivalent group and level may be considered for deployment. Candidates interested in a potential deployment are required to participate in the advertised process prior to the closing date. Only applications submitted online will be accepted.

Employment Equity

Employment and Social Development Canada is committed to Employment Equity (EE). We encourage you to indicate if you belong to one or more of the designated groups by completing the EE section in your application.

The term “Indigenous peoples” aligns with international usage and, in this job advertisement, replaces the legislative term “Aboriginal peoples” that appears in the Employment Equity Act and the Employment Equity Regulations. Prior to appointment, Indigenous peoples who self-declare will have to complete and sign the Affirmation of Aboriginal Affiliation Form (AAAF) (https://www.canada.ca/en/public-service-commission/services/appointmentframework/employment-equity-diversity/affirmation-aboriginalaffiliation.html).

Information on employment equity

Candidates will be contacted and invited to assessments via email. It is imperative that you provide a valid email address that accepts email from unknown users (some messaging systems block these types of correspondence). Candidates are responsible for checking their emails, as well as their junk emails, regularly. In addition, you need to inform us of any changes to your contact information. If you fail to follow these recommendations, you may be eliminated from the selection process.

Only applications submitted online will be accepted.

You must demonstrate how you meet the education and experience criteria by answering the online screening questions as part of the initial screening. It is NOT sufficient to state that you have these qualifications or to list your current or past duties. Instead, you must provide examples that demonstrate WHERE, WHEN and HOW you acquired these qualities. Your resume should reflect the information you provided about your education and experience in the selection questions. If you indicate in your response "please refer to my resume" your application will be rejected. If you do not provide the above information in the required format, you may not be considered.
