Provides a full range of warehousing and stores services to an assigned region for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard.
Ensure the receipt, storage, handling, packaging, distribution and recording in systems of Canadian Coast Guard materials and equipment, including hazardous materials and ensures safe/secure storage in accordance with health and safety guidelines and standards.
Operate motorized vehicles, including forklifts, and use hydraulic material handling equipment.
The Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) owns and operates the federal government's civilian fleet and provides essential maritime services to Canadians. As a Special Operating Agency of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), the CCG supports DFO in fulfilling its responsibility to ensure safe and accessible waterways for Canadians. CCG also plays a lead role in the sustainable use and development of Canada's oceans and waterways.
The current requirement is to fill one (1) term position with the possibility of extension.
The purpose of this inventory is to create a pool of candidates that will be used to staff Supply Technician / Storekeeper positions with various profiles and diferent durations within the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada and Canadian Coast Guard in Quebec City.

EXPERIENCE
Experience providing warehousing services, such as ; receiving, shipping and/or stocking in a warehouse.
Experience using the Microsoft Office suite, including MS Excel and Outlook.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Professional certification related to the position to be filled
Certificate in the use of material handling equipment such as electric or propane forklifts
SIMDUT (WHMIS) 2015 training certificate
Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) training certificate
EXPERIENCE (ASSET)
Experience in the use of material handling equipment such as electric / hydraulic lifts or equipment.
Experience in the management of hazardous materials, including handling, packing, receiving, storage and shipping.
Experience in the use of a computerized material management system (receiving, shipping and/or stocking warehousing-inventory).
Experience in the naval field contributing to knowledge of ship parts.
Experience using the Maximo system.
Material management experience (disposal, acquisition and / or inventory activities).

Must be willing and able to handle and lift considerable amounts of heavy equipment and material weighing up to 45 kg, in accordance with standards.
Must accept and be able to work in a variety of conditions including exposure to heat, cold, noxious fumes, dirt and dust.
Must accept and be able to wear CSA safety footwear at all times, and other pieces of personal protective equipment as needed.
Valid driver's license (if the position requires it).
