Intent of the process

The objective of this process is to staff one (1) position on an indeterminate basis.

A pool of partially qualified or qualified candidates may be created and may be used to fill similar position with different security profiles, linguistic profiles and tenures within the Department of National Defence (DND).

EDUCATION:

◾ A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (see Note 1).

Note:
1. The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
o A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
o An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:

◾ Certified Insulator

EXPERIENCE:

◾ Recent and significant* experience as a Heat and Frost Insulator.

*Recent and significant is defined as at least three (3) years of experience within the past five (5) years.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

◾ Willingness and ability to work in adverse conditions/environments which may include, but not limited to, noisy environments, confined spaces, heights, and extreme weather conditions.
◾Willingness and ability to work overtime.
◾Willingness and ability to travel.
◾Willingness and ability to wear CSA approved safety footwear and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in compliance with safety regulations.
◾Willingness and ability to obtain and retain a DND 404.
