Intent of the process

The immediate intention of this selection process is to fill indeterminate positions within Public Service and Procurement Canada, Digital Services Branch.

A partially assessed pool* may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions with various language requirements and various security requirements, in other organizations within the core public administration (http://www.psc-cfp.gc.ca/plcy-pltq/rfli-lirf/index-eng.htm). This pool may be used to staff positions either in Ottawa or in Gatineau. Please note that deployments at level may be considered to staff any available positions at any point during the selection process.

* Partially qualified simply means that the candidates will be deemed qualified except for the linguistic and security profiles which will be evaluated at a later date should the candidate be considered for an appointment.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

EXPERIENCE
EXP 1 - Experience providing support services in one or more of the following administrative fields :
- Human Resource
- Finance
- Administration
- Communication
- Governance
- Procurement
- Security
EXP 2 -Experience in providing administrative support to management;
EXP 3 - Experience in preparing, reviewing and editing documents;
EXP 4 - Experience researching, reviewing, and synthesizing information;
EXP 5 - Experience working with MS Office Suite (such as Excel, Word, OneNote, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, or Outlook).

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

EXPERIENCE
AEXP 1 - Experience developing , editing and revising internal communication materials or products, such as, but not limited to, branch communiques and engagement products, CIO messages, Social media blogs and posts and web material etc..;
AEXP 2 - Experience in entering and manipulating data, as well as verifying data integrity;
AEXP 3 - Experience in using an HR Database Software such as My HRResource Portal or Winorg;
AEXP 4 - Experience working in a multi stakeholder environment;
AEXP 5 - Experience coordinating project activities;
AEXP 6 - Experience in managing and actioning client requests from a generic mailbox;
AEXP 7 - Experience in records and file management;
AEXP 8 - Experience in developing or applying guidelines, procedures or standards related to information management or procurement;
AEXP 9 - Experience working with SAP / SIGMA system.

ASSESSMENT

In assessing candidates, assessment boards may use a variety of tools and methods including, but not limited to, written tests, interviews, simulations, PSC tests, reference checks, etc. In addition, all information obtained throughout the selection process, from the time of application to close of process, may be used to evaluate the candidates. The ability to communicate effectively in writing could be assessed throughout the process.

Reference checks will be conducted. Candidates should be prepared to provide the names and coordinates of their referees. Some or all of these individuals may be contacted. Referees must have an in-depth knowledge of your work, and must be able to answer specific questions pertaining to your achievements and qualifications as provided in your application, or at any point during the assessment phase. The Assessment Committee reserves the right to contact references other than the ones submitted by the candidates, if necessary, in order to make a suitable assessment of the candidates.

A top down selection of candidates may be used in the determination of those to be given further consideration in the assessment process.

Communication for this process will be sent via email. It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure accurate contact information is provided and updated as required. Preference

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
