Work with a team of action oriented staff, who strive to improve the daily lives of Northerners. This is achieved by leading projects, information gathering, community visits and providing advice to national working groups and senior management. Promote and ensure compliance with legislation; and make recommendations to resolve complex program and policy issues.
Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) and Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs (CIRNAC) work collaboratively with partners to improve access to high-quality services for First Nations, Inuit and Métis. Our vision is to support and empower Indigenous peoples to independently deliver services and address the socioeconomic conditions in their communities.
The immediate intent of this job opportunity is to staff indeterminately three positions in Yellowknife, NT.
A pool of candidates may be established to staff similar or identical positions at Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) and Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) with various tenures, linguistic profiles or security requirements, which may vary.

Experience in researching and analyzing issues and providing advice.

ASSET EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
ASSET EXPERIENCE
Experience working in one of the Territories.
Experience working on files impacting Indigenous people.
Experience in preparing and/or delivering presentations using software such as Power Point.
Experience in developing Excel spreadsheets and compiling data.
Experience managing Funding Arrangements.
Experience working directly with Indigenous Governments.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Reliability Status security clearance.
- Ability to work overtime, sometimes on short notice, as required.
- Willing and able to travel, including to remote communities by various means of transportation (i.e. small aircraft, vehicle or boat), travelling in some adverse road and weather conditions.
Should relocation be required, the incumbent must complete a Health Declaration form for themselves and dependents, in accordance with the Isolated Post and Government Housing Directive.

This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. 1. You will be required to complete an online questionnaire when you apply. You must respond to all statements in all categories in order to proceed to the next steps. You must indicate "NO" if you do not have experience in performing a task related to a specific field.

6. A variety of assessment tools may be used in the assessment of candidates, such as: * written test, practical test, situational exercise, * oral interview, simulation, presentation, role-play, work samples, performance appraisals and/or * reference checks. Some assessment tools may be administered electronically, others, in-person. (* Indicates those tools that will most likely be used in this process.)
7. Online assessments may be scheduled and applicants will be invited to participate in these assessments via email. Applicants MUST make themselves available within the time span of the testing phase. The written/online exam MAY be administered outside of regular working hours including evenings and weekends.
8. If you are unavailable for the scheduled assessment session, you must inform us immediately. Applicants will be only be rescheduled on a case-by-case basis. Supporting documentation may be required at the time of your request to be re-scheduled.

10. NOTE: The PSRS system will time out after 60 minutes which may result in your inability to save your work or loss of data.
