As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are working remotely. If you are appointed to a position, PacifiCan will provide tools and/or equipment to support remote work. As public health restrictions ease, successful candidates will be expected to report to PacifiCan Headquarters in Surrey, B.C.

PacifiCan offices are open environments with well-regulated air quality, ergonomic sit/stand workstations, and a combination of natural and fluorescent lighting. The physical demands of these positions include spending a significant amount of time working on a computer, and reading documents. This role will also involve meeting with stakeholders virtually by video and telephone, and in-person as COVID-19 public health measures allow. Intent of the process

The intent of this anticipatory process is to staff one permanent position as Corporate Secretariat/ATIP Advisor (AS-04) and one permanent position as Corporate Secretariat/ATIP Officer (AS-03) in Surrey, B.C. This process may also be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates and may be used to staff similar positions of various tenures (including but not limited to term and indeterminate appointments, internal assignments, secondments, deployments, acting appointments, and casual work assignments). It may also be used to staff positions with various security requirements, language requirements and conditions of employment, and in any PacifiCan office location.

For the Corporate Secretariat/ATIP Advisor, AS-04
• *Significant experience providing recommendations to management on policy or procedural issues relating to the administration of an act or regulation.

*Significant is defined as relevant experience normally acquired through the full time performance of duties for at least two years

For the Corporate Secretariat/ATIP Officer, AS-03
• Experience providing recommendations to management on policy or procedural issues relating to the administration of an act or regulation.

Experience required for both positions:
• Experience coordinating, tracking or managing multiple tasks within deadlines.
• Experience developing or implementing policies, procedures or processes (e.g. process maps, training materials, guidance documents, etc.).
• Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with internal or external stakeholders.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
• Experience coordinating and processing* requests made under the Access to Information Act and/or Privacy Act.
• Experience preparing correspondence, such as emails and letters to the public, interested stakeholders and management in relation to ATIP issues.
• Experience preparing representations in response to complaints filled with the Office of the Information Commissioner and/or Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
• Experience with the use and administration of the AccessPro Case Management and redaction (APCM) software or similar.
• Experience responding to and resolving complaints as well as developing action plans for the resolution of complaints lodged with the Office of the Information Commissioner and/or the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
• Experience coaching or mentoring staff.

* Processing is defined as reviewing and analyzing information or documents to be disclosed, or conducting the required consultations with all parties involved in the request (i.e. with requestors, third parties, other government organizations and/or with the Office of the Information Commissioner).
