- Pursue online predators who exploit children;
- Disrupt organized crime and human trafficking.

There are a broad range of IT positions within the RCMP with varying roles. Examples include: application development of policing tools, radio communication infrastructure, business relationship management, IM-related roles, Cloud infrastructure, administration of digital platforms, and IT architecture. The RCMP IM/IT Program is responsible for providing the IT tools, services, and solutions for the law enforcement community to fight crime across Canada and internationally. Intent of the process

A pool of partially qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances. Depending on the position being staffed, additional qualifications may be required by the hiring manager. Applicants will be provided with the opportunity to submit information relevant to any additional qualifications that may be applied.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Note: Given the pandemic situation, RCMP, as most organizations are able to benefit from working remotely at this time. However, employees might be required to physically go in the office as some position are essential and operational.

EDUCATION :
Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Note:
1. Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
2. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
3. At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE :

Experience in providing strategic advice and recommendations or technical guidance and recommendations to senior management (i.e. director and above) on complex** issues related to IM/IT*.

*** Significant experience in engaging multiple stakeholders to: resolve complex** issues or implement complex business IM/IT solutions.

***Significant experience mobilizing members of a team to achieve results.
